Cultural Sociology
Sociology of culture? Cultural sociology? However you think about culture in the world around us, sociology has a lot to say. As a look at the faculty and students below shows, work in the cultural sociology draws on many sociologies, from the sociology of knowledge, science, religion and art to class formations and organizations. From the practices in everyday life to the production of cultural artefacts; from politics to the economy, the metropolis to the suburb, the factory to the street vendor—the cultural lens makes the familiar strange, and the strange familiar.
