The Columbia University Department of Sociology and the Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) Master's Program invites applications for a limited-term position at the faculty rank of Lecturer in Discipline to begin July 1, 2012. Initial appointment is for one year with expected renewal through a third year. QMSS is seeking an outstanding faculty member to teach courses in data analysis geared towards inferential analysis and interdisciplinary research. The incumbent will be expected to teach two sections of Introduction to Data Analysis in the Fall, one section of Introduction to Data Analysis in the Spring, one section of a course in the candidate's specialty area in the Spring, as well as all related course labs. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to serve as thesis advisor to several QMSS students, advise a number of independent studies each semester, and run several professional development workshops during the year. Ph.D. and teaching experience at the graduate level required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
