Biographical Note: 

Kathrine is a Danish Fulbright Scholar. She obtained her bachelor degree in 2012 from Copenhagen Business School in Business Administration and Sociology. In her thesis she undertook an analysis of the impacts of past Danish development aid to Vietnam on contemporary public-private business collaborations. Subsequently she completed a year at the MSc. Strategy, Organization and Leadership graduate program, which she plans to finish after her stay at Columbia.

Kathrine’s principal interests, both theoretical and substantive, lie at the center of current concerns and include e.g. globalization, development, social change, institutions and management. Particularly she is interested in the gaps and clashes between theory and practice, and her approaches are often interdisciplinary and within the fields of political, economic and organizational sociology.

During her studies she has worked as consulting director at 180 Degrees Consulting, helping non-profits and socially conscious businesses achieve higher social impact. She is also editor of Embedded, a student run academic journal in Economic Sociology and Political Economy.
