Bio

Sara Shameem is a Master's student in the department with an interest in immigration and cultural sociology. She received her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from SUNY New Paltz and has previously worked in the public relations industry for many years. Her current research project looks at second generation Indian American Christians and how their religious identity is incorporated into their American experience. She is also working with Gil Eyal under the Precision Medicine and Society Pilot Grant examining how the rise of precision medicine affects inclusion of patients from diverse social groups in cancer clinical trials.
