Biographical Note: 

Ion Bogdan Vasi received his PhD in Sociology from Cornell University (2005), his MA in Sociology from Central European University (1998), and his BA in Sociology from the University of Bucharest (1997). His major areas of interest are organizations, political sociology, social movements, economic sociology and environmental sociology, and his research is often situated at the intersection of many of those areas. His current research examines the growth of renewable energy industries, the diffusion of local resolutions and ordinances on issues from environmental protection to civil liberties to living wage, and the adoption and implementation of green practices by corporations, universities, and local governments. His recent published work has appeared in the American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, and Mobilization. He recently completed a book with Oxford University Press entitled Winds of Change. The Environmental Movement and the Global Development of the Wind Energy Industry.
