Daniel Navon
Biographical Note:
Dan's research and teaching interests center around the fields of historical sociology, science studies and social theory. He graduated in analytic philosophy from the University of Edinburgh before coming to Columbia in 2006 and developing research projects on genetics, medicine and social identity, consumerism and mass culture and the role of narrative in processes of identity change. His dissertation uses historical methods, fieldwork and citation analysis to examine the ways in which genetics is refiguring categories of medical classification and social identity.
