Research Interests


Adesuwa E. Igbinovia is a Masters student in the Department of Sociology at Columbia University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of identity, religion, race and gender relations. Her current thesis explores whether people’s perceptions of God can indicate how likely they are to believe rape myths, and prior research includes an undergraduate honors thesis titled: The Impact of Social Interaction on the International Student Experience, which investigated the effect of verbal and non-verbal forms of interaction between domestic and international students on the latter’s sense of belonging and academic performance
