Bio

Eva Jahan is a sociologist currently living and working in New York City. At Columbia University, she specialized in the sociology of race, ethnicity, and culture as she conducted research to understand how Nuyorican Poet's Cafe and Bowery Poetry Club - two of NYC's most historical slam poetry venues - allow poets to combat intergenerational trauma in their respective communities. Currently, she is working at a company called Kindness.org as a research. She hopes to go onto pursue her PhD. Besides her academic interests she is also an active writer and performer of poetry.
