Hira Iqbal

Hira completed her undergraduate studies in Economics (with a minor in Anthropology) from Pakistan, before moving to Sociology for her further studies. Her research interests include organizational structures and functioning, especially in the NGO sector of Pakistan, stemming from her own work in an organization belonging to said sector following her graduation. She has also previously collaborated on a research project revolving around the issue of honour killings in Pakistan, before joining Columbia University. Her current research looks at the possible existence of isomorphic tendencies in humanitarian aid organizations and how that may lend to inefficiencies and the wastage of resources.
