Manqing is an MA student in Columbia's Sociology department. Before joining the program, she earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from New York University. Her honors undergraduate thesis explored the potential impact of mainly using WeChat as a primary source of information on first-generation Chinese immigrants' attitudes toward the Black Lives Matter movement. Manqing's current research focuses on exploring online censorship's influences on Chinese fan communities' cultural productions.
