Bio
Mel Wang graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a bachelor degree in Sociology. Her undergraduate research was focused on beautification and feminine discourses in China, studying the pursuit of cosmetic intervention by urban college-age women in contemporary China and its influence on idealized femininity, disempowerment and gender relations. She is also interested in exploring the role of social media in constructing ideal femininity.
