Bio
Xiaqiuzi Han is an MA student in Sociology. Originally from China, Xiaqiuzi completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham, where she majored in Sociology and Education. Xiaqiuzi’s research lies broadly within political sociology, as well as protest and social movement studies. More specifically, she is interested in the state-civil society relationship and the dynamics between protests and state responses in authoritarian regimes. Her Master's thesis investigates the changes in the state-protest dynamics in China over the past decade.
