Bio
Amita Khurana is currently pursuing her MA in Sociology at Columbia University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies (with Distinction) and a minor in Dance from Barnard College. She is broadly interested in queer and SWANA (Southwest Asian and North Africa) studies, transnational and decolonial feminism, and alternative ways of thinking and living. Her current research explores queer SWANA spaces in New York City and how they might foster identity formation, community-building, and political action.
