Bio

Elizaveta Sheremet is a Ph.D. Student and Paul F. Lazarsfeld Fellow in the Department of Sociology at Columbia University. Her research interests include sociology of science and scientific knowledge, social epistemology, and folk science, with an additional focus on morality and ethics. She is generally interested in sociological theory and quantitative methodology, especially but not exclusively in experiments. Before coming to Columbia, Elizaveta received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in sociology at the Higher School of Economics, investigating academic dishonesty and lay perceptions of scientific knowledge. After graduating, she spent three years working as a faculty member in the Department of Higher Mathematics and the Department for Social Institutions Analysis, teaching mathematics, social theory, and research methods.
