Biographical Note: 

Sarah Sachs is a PhD student in sociology, researching the production of classification systems within organizational contexts. Specifically, Sarah is interested in structures of collective knowledge, including classification systems, indexing processes, shared lexicons, and decisionmaking in the automation of work practices. Sarah is currently conducting comparative research on expertise and the transformation of art into data.

Sarah participates in the Center for Organizational Innovation; the Initiative for the Study and Practice of Organized Creativity and Culture; the Center for Science and Society; and the Science, Knowledge and Technology Workshop at Columbia University.
