Bio

Anika Rose Lanser is a PhD student and Paul F. Lazarsfeld fellow in the Sociology Department at Columbia University. She is broadly interested in education, special education, organizations, social movements, and food. Her current projects seek to understand how teachers understand their organizational role within schools and how teachers make decisions about union membership. Prior to attending Columbia, Anika served as a Research Assistant at the Center for Social Development and Education. She also worked as a special education teacher at a Brooklyn charter school while pursuing an M.A. in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. Anika also holds an M.A. in Sociology from Columbia University and a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in History from Vassar College.
