Tim is a Ph.D. candidate and Paul F. Lazarsfeld Fellow in the Department of Sociology at Columbia University. He graduated from Brown University, phi beta kappa, in 2018 with an Sc.B. in Social Analysis & Research. His primary research interests include poverty, incarceration, and inequality, which he studies using a range of quantitative methods. His ongoing dissertation research examines how courts and jails manage social problems related to racism and poverty in the contemporary United States.
