Bio
Elizabeth is a Ph.D. candidate and NSF GRFP fellow in the Department. Her research interests include historical sociology, knowledge production, anti-Blackness and racism, and HIV/AIDS. Her dissertation examines the production and impact of anti-Black scientific knowledge within the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Her research career extends from the U.S., to South Africa, and New Zealand, where she was a 2018 U.S. Fulbright Fellow.
Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Elizabeth worked as a journalist and fact-checker, with her work on police violence, gender violence, and criminal justice featured in HuffPost, Slate, The Nation, and The Black Youth Project. You can find her most recent public articles here.
