Biographical Note
Lily S. Johnson is a PhD student in the Sociology Department at Columbia University. Her research examines how neighborhood organizational conditions, social networks, and institutional decision-making shape inequality and opportunity. She is particularly interested in how peer influence and identity affect economic mobility.
Before joining the department, Lily worked as a research assistant at The Urban Institute and the Women’s Institute for Science, Equity and Race. She holds a B.A. from Boston University in Economics with a concentration in African American and Black Diaspora Studies.
