Biographical Note
Tariq Dixon is an M.A. student in the Sociology Department at Columbia University. His research examines how built environment design and household organizational structures influence social capital and civic life, particularly among non-traditional living arrangements, including cooperative housing, multigenerational families, and fictive kin.
Before joining the department, Tariq founded and led TRNK, a New York–based contemporary design studio and retailer. He holds an A.B. in Government from Harvard University.
