Biographical Note
Wendy Qian is an MA student in the Department of Sociology. Broadly, she is interested in exploring the development of Asian American activism and mobilization through an identity formation lens. Currently, Wendy is exploring the relationship between Asian American women’s experiences of racial-sexual fetishization and greater sustained political action within the Asian American movement. Prior to attending Columbia, she earned her Sociology B.A. with honors and a minor in Asian American studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
