Isaac Ariail Reed is works in historical sociology, cultural sociology and social theory. He is the author of Interpretation and Social Knowledge: On the use of theory in the human sciences, and the forthcoming Power in Modernity: Agency Relations and the Creative Destruction of the King’s Two Bodies. His papers include “Power: Relational, Discursive, and Performative Dimensions” (Sociological Theory) and “Performative State-formation in the Early American Republic,” (American Sociological Review).
