Biographical Note
Nora is an MA student in the Department of Sociology. Her research lies at the intersection of human-computer interaction and sociology of intimacy. She is particularly interested in artificial intimacy: how and why humans form intimate relationships with inanimate objects, especially in the context of emerging large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence, and the social constructions that both shape these relationships and are shaped by them.
Previously, she conducted quantitative research on the correlation between AI companions interactions and perceptions of human relationships. Her current work takes an ethnographic approach to these questions. Ruotong holds a bachelor’s degree in Game Art Design from the Communication University of China.
